Said The Sky - Wide-Eyed

Said The Sky said his approach to Sentiment was drastically different than that to Wide-Eyed. To make such a change is bold and equally refreshing. In a post to his social media, he said he took a Reddit user’s comment about his first LP to heart. The comment read, “[Wide-Eyed] is okay, it didn’t feel like he pushed and boundaries. Feels like another straight forward EDM album.” To that end, Said The Sky challenged himself to dig deeper and take those risks on Sentiment. There’s not many artists who would challenge themselves in such a way on the heels of an album that was so well-received. But what happened next was the inspiration to create something totally unique and true to himself, and the result was Sentiment.

Dabin - Wild Youth

From start to finish this EP takes me through the course of trying to balance different aspects of my life. In the song “Lights” I find myself evaluating my past habits of ignoring what I am feeling and allowing myself to keep fueling my bad habits of shutting down my emotions to preserve myself. “In Flames” has me looking back on all of the different elements of hurt that caused me to start shutting myself down.“Home” makes me realize that by shutting down my emotions I ended up losing myself, feeling very disconnected and lacking direction. “Bloom” made me look to the part of my life where I started feeling whole again while also being afraid to grow or challenge myself out of the fear of things falling apart and repeating history. Finally, “Alive”takes me to the place where I start overcoming my fears enabling myself to grow, and start feeling alive. With the newly added lyrics affirming that “alive” is where I feel right now.

Dabin - Between Broken

The whole album went front reaching into the broken pieces of your heart, throwing them, and then picking them up again to start a new relationship. All that sadness is filled with promising love. “Between Broken” shows off Dabin’s unique, emotional, futuristic, melodic bass. This is an album for all the hopeless romantics out there!

Said The Sky - Sentiment

Nearly four years after his breakthrough debut album Wide-Eyed, Said The Sky is back with his sophomore LP Sentiment. “Sentiment,” by definition, refers to “exaggerated feelings of nostalgia,” and the album features plenty of that. Said The Sky proves that his love for punk-rock was “never just a phase” and perfectly fuses together those nostalgic sounds with his signature melodic-bass. We got previews of what to expect in the form of singles “We Know Who We Are” with Olivver The Kid, “Treading Water,” “Go On Then, Love” with The Maine, and “Walk Me Home” with ILLENIUM and Chelsea Cutler. Although each song is decidedly different, they all cohesively piece together, unified by their pop-punk roots.
